July 27 Marked the opening of the highly-anticipated and exciting Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila. This poker event continues to grow its reputation as one of the most respected poker festivals in the region. Now it is expected to hold its event in one of the most luxurious casinos in the country, the famous Okada Manila. With a world-class setting hosting a respected event, it is not surprising that poker stars from all over the world are hurrying to take part in the event.
The event is expected to run from July 27 to August 6, 2034. With more than a week of games planned, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila will be filled with fun and memorable events. There are expected to be 33 events including four events backed with prize guarantees. Together these four events have total prize pools of PHP 30,000,000 (USD 550,000).
Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila Event Lineup
The first event of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila is the APPT Kick-Off event which started earlier today. This kick-off will have a massive prize pool of PHP 3,000,000 (USD 55,000) with a buy-in fee of around PHP 20,000 (USD 365) with unlimited re-entries.
There are high hopes for this event as the APPT Manila Kick-Off event in 2019 brought a huge crowd, over 923 players which ballooned the prize pool to a massive PHP 12.9 Million prize pool. So far it seems like it is living up to that standard as the first day alone brought in 183 entries for the competition. Back then, the winner was the lucky Chinese poker player Jinlong Hu who is also rumored to make an appearance here, perhaps to defend his title even.
This event is meant to be opening for the rest of the tournament, giving players a chance to warm up and test their skills while they warm up for the next events. That means the kick-off event will pale in comparison to whatever else the Asia Pacific Poker Tour has in store.
After the kick-off events, there are five other major events to watch out for. Many of these events have guaranteed prize pools so you are guaranteed a big reward if you win. The first is the APPT National which runs from July 29 to August 1 and will provide a prize pool of PHP 5,000,000.
If you are a high roller looking to test your skills though, you might want to try the two-day Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila Super High Roller that goes from August 1-2, 2023.
Probably the most highly anticipated of these events though is the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila. This event is the center of this entire event and will take place from August 3 to 6, 2023. To make this event more exciting will be a massive prize pool of PHP 20,000,000 making it one of the most expensive events of the tournament. To raise that money, each player is expected to pay an entrance fee of PHP 65,000. It is in this event that you will have the chance to win the PokerStars Shard Trophy.
But don’t think for a moment that the excitement stops there. After the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila you can still take part in the APPT Super Stack and APPT High Roller Events that both take place in August 5-6, 2023. These events are meant for players with deep pockets and looking for a challenge. They both offer respectable prize pools of PHP 2,000,000 and PHP 250,000, respectively.
